Hello Team,

I have a specific query on reservations for NRI students.

The student is studying abroad in Grade 8, will he be able to apply for SC/ST reservations in Medical admission?

Also, the student plans to move to India from Grade 9 to continue his schooling, will he still be considered in NRI quota??

Look forward to your reply, thanks in advance for your advice.

There is no SC / ST quota for NRIs in NEET exam but candidates can apply in NRI category if they are eligible. There is an NRI quota in some government/ private medical colleges where admission is on the basis of merit list in NEET-UG.

NRI students can get admission in top medical colleges by clearing the NEET exam. MBBS admissions in all medical colleges including AIIMS and JIPMER will happen through NEET-UG only.

If the student plans to move to India from Grade 9 to continue his schooling, He will not be considered as an NRI
