I need some clarification regarding the NEET for an NRI student studying in IB board. Hoping you can help us in getting answers to our queries.

Below are the details and questions on the same

My daughter  details

1. She is studying in IB  board - year 12 (equivalent to grade 11 of Indian board) in Dubai - the new session will start in Sept 2020

2. She wants to pursue medicine from a foreign university after year 13(grade 12).

3. We are NRIs (Indian passport holder) staying in Dubai

4. She has only opted for 2 sciences subject (bio +chem) as IB doesn’t allow 3 sciences. (tentative subject choices and can be changed)

My questions

1. For my daughter to pursue medicine in a foreign university does she have to appear for NEET?

2. Are NRIs included in this MCI update?

3. What is NEET eligibility for IB students? 

4. What subjects she must study in IB DP program in order to appear for NEET if required? 

Please note generic details on IB -

She will start her IB DP1 - year 12(equivalent to grade 11 in Indian board) in September 2020. Now she has to give her final subject choices. So we want to be sure she makes the right choice of subject in IB to pursue medicine abroad and she has only this week to change subjects. 

Normally IB doesn’t allow 3 sciences unless special approval is taken from IB board with valid reason. 

Looking forward to your response at earliest (as she has this week only to change subjects) so that we can make appropriate subject selection and if need be enroll her to a NEET preparation course .
