My Daughter is in 10th std now, willing to continue 12th here in Malaysia. Interested in MBBS. So wanted to know whether she will be NRI student for NEET or she can be under the open quota?
I understand if she is getting good scores then under AIQ there is no NRI.
But if she gets low then she gets Pvt / Deemed colleges then it will be considered NRI or still can we go for normal Indian quota/management quota and pay their Indian management fees?

Also wanted to about the Gujarat Puducherry NRI quota. Can anyone apply in Gujarat and Puducherry IGMCRI under the NRI quota or it’s only for Gujarat NRI students?

What about Deemed? Whether they consider under NRI or still can go for management normal fees?

  • If she completed both the 10th and 12th standard form abroad, she can be fall under the NRI category. As long as you get enough marks to get into AIQ and State quotas. There is no need to be worried anything about quotas. You will be count as a normal Indian student.

All these quotas come into play when you don't have enough marks.

In private and deemed colleges, beyond AIQ and State quota, the admission is under the hand of individual colleges. Whether you will get into the NRI quota or management quota, it's all in their hand. But if you get enough marks to convince them, they might consider you under management quotas as normal students.

IGMCRI Puducherry has 27 seats out of 180 for NRI students and NRI sponsored. There is no such condition specified as only for the native students. So, you can apply there.
