  • If you are an NRI and want to take admission in engineering colleges in India then you must know the eligibility criteria for admission and if you complete all the eligibilities then only students can get into engineering colleges in India.

There are many colleges in India where NRI students can take engineering admission in NITs, IIITs, etc.

According to new guidelines, students must clear JEE mains for admission in engineering colleges as from now onwards SAT marks will not be considered for entrance exams in Indian Universities.

Let us know the Eligibility Criteria for NRI students-

    • Students must have Physics and Mathematics main subjects in class 12th.
    • Candidates should score a minimum of 60% in 12th grade.
    • Students must qualify JEE mains exam as per the cut-off.
    • Students must clear class 12th from any recognized board outside India.
    • NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and FN who are residing and studying abroad for the last 2 years can apply.
    • Students must born after Oct 1, 1995.
    • Students who appeared for the class 12th exam but the result is awaited and are likely to get their result on Sep 15, 2022, can also apply.

Candidates have to show the following documents for proof

    1. Copy of the Passport of the Parent

    2. Visa of the Parent

    3. Permit of the Parent and

    4. Company/Organization Proof of the Parent to show that you’re working in Gulf

If a student completes 11th and 12th from India whether he is eligible?

As discussed in the above eligibility criteria NRI students will only be eligible for DASA/CIWG quota and get their place in Indian Engineering Colleges when he/she pursue 11th and 12th from foreign countries with a recognized board.

No students will be given any kind of privilege and also students must clear JEE mains according to the required rank in respective colleges.

NRI students looking for admission to engineering colleges in India must note that they have to qualify for JEE mains and SAT is not considered for Entrance Exams in India as per changes in DASA/CIWG quota.
