Both IB and AP are internationally recognized and are accepted by most of the universities. Since universities check out how hard you have challenged yourself with the most rigorous courses, so it’s important to choose your course wisely. When it comes to AP or IB then AP is more widespread as compared to IB. Also, IB is given credit for it’s higher level course whereas AP is given credit for both higher and standard level courses. This means that if you choose six courses in AP and six in IB with three higher level courses and three standard level courses for your diploma, then chances are you will get lesser credit for IB as compared to AP. So, it completely depends on how you challenge yourself and how hard you want to prepare yourself.
