  • Dear Sir,

Yes, you are eligible for CIWG quota here. If you son has completed total 5 year of formal education from abroad out of which 11th and 12th should be completed from abroad.

So, in your case the residential requirement seems to be getting completed.

SAT Score - The minimum cutoff is now 1850 for getting admission in NITs in India. If you need to get into good college and good stream then you son need to work hard and try getting closed to 2400. The maximum the score the maximum is the chance of getting a call for 1st round of counseling for admission in NITs in India.

Fee Difference: Yes, in CIWG category you pay only around 4-5 lakh for a 4 year degree whereas in DASA you end up paying around $4000 / semester which means for a 4 year degree you will be paying up around 20-22 lakh indian rupees.

  • No engineering college denies admission to IB students, so you can always get admission in top engineering colleges. Engineering colleges take admission of those students who qualify their entrance exams. The only problem with IB students is that their results are declared in the month of July whereas most of the engineering colleges take admission before July. But in such cases, they take provisional admission and students can submit their results after result declaration. So, don’t worry and all the best for your exams.
