We are NRI's in Saudi Arabia from over a decade now and my daughter in Studying in Indian International School - Jeddah in grade 11th and soon going to be in grade 12th this April, 2018.
We are little confused about DASA and CIWG, We know about CIWG and want to send my daughter to NIT's (National Institute of Technology) under CIWG scheme.
Now, we need to know which is a better option to go for a NRI in gulf country - To opt for CIWG scheme / or go for DASA scheme.
Which is better in terms of seats allocated in both the scheme DASA or CIWG?
Parents with past experience on the same issue or those who had been through this, please contribute here to educate here. We are in great need of your responses.

Let me elucidate the difference between DASA and CIWG.
DASA is for the Indian nationals residing in foreign nations. Whereas, CIWG is for the Indian nationals that are living in the Gulf countries especially. 1/3 rd of DASA's quota is CIWG. I.e. CIWG is the subset of DASA and DASA's 1/3rd quota is CIWG.
Yeah, if you are from a gulf country then you are eligible for the CIWG scheme and can take advantage of the new CIWG update as well.
Here are the highlights of CIWG 2018-19 update:
1. CIWG students can apply for DASA quota as well.
2. Students finished their 11th and 12th grade abroad are eligible for DASA/CIWG schemes. I.e. if you fail to get admission in CIWG scheme then you might get admission via DASA scheme.
