The SAT test is conducted four times every year-October, December, March, and May. SAT Subject Tests are available internationally in October, November, December, May, and June. For students of Class 11th, the best time to start preparing for their test is after their first semester examinations. That way they have time to prepare for the October or December test, depending upon the kind of preparation they are having. If they are not happy with their score then at least they have another chance to take the test again in March the following year.

Students of class 11th should start preparing for their test earliest by September because whatever is asked in the SAT examination is fairly based on their high school learning and most of it is taught through their 11th and 12th Grade. The sooner they start, the better it is for them.
