Intended use: For undergraduate study at postsecondary institution.
Eligibility: Applicant must be enrolled in high school. Applicant must be residing in Illinois.
Application requirements: 500-word essay on selected topic. Additional information: Award amount depends on placement and grade level. Open to students grade 7- 12 enrolled  at accredited Illinois junior high and high schools or home schooled. Deadline is first Friday in February. Submit essay to local American Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit, or Sons of American Legion  Squadron.
