  • Major changes done by NTA is just this that the Exam will held twice a year for both JEE and NEET and this time the difficulty level will also increase. So pace up your preparation and don't miss this golden opportunity to make your dreams come true.

  • Hi Mr. Gopal as you came to know that there will be a huge change in JEE from next year, the change is there will be 2 JEEs as well as NEETs from next year & the exam will be organized by NTA, not the usual CBSE.
As per your query your son will not be affected in any negative manner by this decision also better score out of the two will be considered for admission so it will give 1 more chance to students who can't score well in the first exam can go for the second exam without wasting 1 more year for preparation.

  • I don't know how much efficient this system will be as in India changes in system need time and people always find some flaws in it irrespective of the fact that it will be helpful for their children too. I want this to get success as it will motivate students in a best possible way in order to chase their dreams and they will also believe in the System.

  • Well the HRD ministry has introduced a new change in JEE & NEET from now on the exams will be organized 2 times in a year but for the sake of simplicity it's not mandatory to take both you can only appear in one or in both it depends on you. The better score between the two will be valid & used for admissions. The syllabus for the exams will remain the same as of the previous years.

To prepare for the exam you must start now as there is very less time left for the first exam for better preparation you should opt for online preparation method.

  • JEE and NEET are the two most precious exams of India in order to pursue Graduation in Engineering and Medical, So most of the students are dependent on these two exams in order to chase their dreams and by taking this step by NTA they prove that the education authority thinks about the students also and about their future too.

This is the best step taken by any education authority in India. All thanks to Prakash Javadekar for such contribution to Indian Education.

The registration process for the exam will start from September for January exam & in Feb for April exam. The application fees for foreign students is Rs 2500/- for boys & Rs 1250/- for girls for JEE main paper 1 & for both exams it will be Rs 3800/- for boys & Rs 1900/- for girls.

  • The big change in JEE is that from next year onwards it will be conducted twice a year by NTA, and you can take any one of them or both of them if you want to and its also not mandatory to take both of them. Another change is from next year there will be no pen & paper mode of examination you can only take computer-based test. I will also enlist the eligibility in brief:
NTA JEE Main 2019 - Eligibility Criteria
With no major changes announced in the eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2019, students may rest easy on this account and prepare as they normally would. The eligibility involves the same JEE Main eligibility criteria as mentioned below

    1. Date of Birth – Candidates born on or after October 01, 1994 are eligible. Relaxation by 5 years is given for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates whose date of birth should be on or after October 01, 1989.

    2. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)

Candidates must have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018

Those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are also eligible to appear NTA JEE Main

Candidates studying from National Open School are also eligible.

    3. Number of subjects studied in the Qualifying Examination (QE) - It is mandatory that all candidates must have studied five or more subjects in their class 12th/qualifying examination to be eligible to write NTA JEE Main.

    4. Number of Attempts

Annual: Candidates will be allowed two attempts per year – once in January and the second time in April when the exams will be held.

Total number of attempts for each candidate: The number of attempts given to each candidate earlier was three in three consecutive years. It has been stated that there are no changes in eligibility so the total number of attempts calculated per student for three consecutive years will sum up to six. This is not as of yet clarified by the authorities and if changes are announced, the corrections will be published here.

  • Well, the only change in NEET is that from next year onwards it will be held twice a year & there will be no pen & paper mode you can only a computer-based test. The first test will be held in Feb & the 2nd test will be in May but it's not compulsory to take both, one can take both or anyone depending upon your choice.
The eligibility criteria for the exam has not been changed If you need here are the eligibility criteria for NEET.
Candidates can apply for NTA NEET 2019 if they fulfill the required eligibility criteria. The application forms of the ineligible candidates get rejected, so aspirants are advised to through the eligibility criteria of NEET 2019 by NTA listed below.

The candidates must at least be 17 years in age as on December 31, 2019.

The age of the candidates must not be more than 25 years in age as on May 7, 2019.

The candidates in order to apply for NTA NEET 2019 must have qualified in Class 12 or qualifying examination or must be appearing in the same in 2019.

In the qualifying exam the candidates must have scored an aggregate of 50% (for unreserved), 45% (for Physically Handicapped -PH), and 40% (for reserved including the PH reserved) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Candidates are required to have studied Biology/Biotechnology with practicals in both Classes 11 and 12. Candidates with Biology as an additional subject in Class 12 alone are not eligible for NEET 2019.

Candidates are also required to undertake two years of regular and continuous study in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology". This implies that no gap year is permitted between Classes 11 and 12.

Since the first exam will be held in Feb & there is very less time left for preparation so I will suggest you prepare through online method & attempt as much mock tests as you can.

The big change introduced by NTA is that they will organize the exam twice a year and I find this decision as very beneficial for students since it will allow us to take the exam twice a year & will give us a chance to improve our score without wasting a year waiting for the next exam. 3rd year gap means that you have passed your 12th examination in 2016 or earlier but as per the eligibility criteria, only those students are eligible who have passed class 12th examination in 2017 or later or will be appearing in class 12 examination in 2019. So, sorry to say you are not eligible for the exam from now on.

And with the help of artificial intelligence, NTA is trying to make question papers unique for every student so that it is negligible to cheat in the exam.

Now as for the difficulty is concerned I speculate it to be increased this year, as the exam will be prepared by a more specialized team of experts, psychometricians & teachers so that students may more practical based exam than theoretical.

The HRD Minister Mr. Prakash Javedkar in a press conference in July 2018 told that from now on NTA will conduct the JEE & NEET exam & it will be held twice. The first JEE exam will be held in Jan & 2nd in Apr, the registration process for it will start in September for Jan exam & in Feb for Apr exam.

However, if you appear in both the exams the marks of one in which you scored more will be considered for admissions.

  • The exam will be conducted twice & the syllabus for both will be the same. I think it will benefit students in a positive way as from now they can get two chances in a year for the exam, suppose one could not perform well in the first exam then he/she could analyze his/her mistake & reprepare for the next exam without wasting a year waiting for the next exam. But the students have to work hard as there is less time for preparation as there is less time gap between the two exams. There may be a rise in the cut off as more students will appear for the exam. The competition will increase as a result NTA may create a tough exam so prepare well for the exam. Best of luck.

Hi Ankur, there is no clear view about this as there was no notification about this previously students were allowed 3 consecutive attempts with 1 every year. But NTA has not yet declared anything about the no of attempts for JEE this time. But as per news from unofficial sources, the two paper attempts will be counted as one. No, the eligibility criteria for droppers is also the same as for others. But you need to make sure that you must have passed your class 12 exam in 2017 or later as the students who have passed class 12 examination in or before 2016 are not eligible for the exam. Also, it must be noted that you have scored at least 60% in PCM combined if you are a general category student & 55% in PCM if you are a reserved category student.

I think the difficulty level will increase as NTA will be organizing NEET for the first so they don't want to get insulted. For preparing question papers NTA has already employed a team of teachers, subject matter experts, psychometricians who are creating a large pool of questions for NEET. NTA will make sure that no two students can get the same set of questions so that students can't cheat in the exam. Brace yourself for newer NEET.

    Hey Vishal,

Regarding your query, Yes NEET will held twice in a year but that doesn't mean that the student can take admissions in two different colleges. If the student is not satisfied by his first performance then he/she can apply for the second one and then the marks are calculated on the basis of the students performance in both the papers.

Coming to number of seats, no notification is released by NTA regarding increasing or decreasing of seats in JEE as well as NEET Exam.

Hope this answer will help you.

General category candidates will need to obtain a minimum of 50 percentile, while those belonging to SC/ST/OBC will need to secure at least 40 percentile and candidates from General-PH category will need to score 45 percentile in order to qualify NEET 2019 by NTA. Candidates scoring less than the above-mentioned percentiles will not be included in the All India Rank list of NTA NEET 2019 and will be ineligible for further admission process.

Yes, any student studying in class 12 can also take both the exams in Feb & May 2019. Students will now have Two-Chances to clear the NEET2019 exams the best of two exams marks will be considered for counseling and admission processes.
A major change was that from now on the exam will only be conducted Online.

You will two scorecards if you take both the exams, but only one will be considered for admissions purposes. Let's say you score 152 in first exam & 193 in another exam then the second exam score will be valid for admissions. As the rule says only the best score out of the two will be used for admissions purposes.

No, there is no change in the seat allotment process for NEET, the admission counseling will be done only once in a year & that will be after the declaration of results for both the exams. The marks for the admissions will be decided as the best score between the two exams if you take both the exams or else only the marks obtained in the single exam will be considered if you take only one exam.

As the experts suggest NTA can make a tough question paper. They have already engaged a team for preparing a resource pool of questions with the help of subject matter experts, psychometricians, & teachers. They will make sure that each student can get a unique set of questions so that the chances of cheating are negligible.
