  • The requirement for IB math SL calls for very dedicated and strenuous efforts. Those who have done well in IB maths SL, the SAT Math would be a cakewalk. SAT is the stepping stone for admission to the University.

    The SAT covers:

    • Geometry
    • Trigonometry
    • Statistics,
    • Calculus,
    • Pre-Calculus etc.

On the other hand, IB follows an international curriculum as well as a base for scholarships for schools in many countries.
Compared to IB, the Sat Maths is easier.

  • Of course, the IB maths help you substantially with the SAT. Both the AP (The Advanced Placement) and IB (International Baccalaureate) are the high school level exams enabling the students to get college admissions.

Fundamental Differences between IB and SAT explicitly on Maths SL and SAT  respectively as=re given as follows.
Both programs are challenging courses for high school students helping their college admission. However, the scope, philosophies and goals are altogether different. SAT is a US designed course whereas IB is developed in Switzerland. Compared to SAT IB is not that popular.

The IB program has extracurricular requirements as well. IB is more expensive than SAT

In contrast, the AP is a program focused on teaching students specific content and testing their knowledge on the exams. There is more multiple-choice and emphasis on meeting specific content goals. The flexibility of IB is missing in SAT.

Different Universities have different norms for admissions. Some prefer IB, and some others SAT, the students are advised to check the criteria thoroughly.
For IB stream, the Higher Level as the name stands for is more stringent than Standard Level HL calls for applied Maths the ACT more on a theoretical one.
