The International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program is ideal for the students to pursue higher studies overseas just like SAT programme. Similarly, those who did IB or SAT can get admission in local institutions. However simultaneous preparation for IB and JEE would be difficult due to clash in the time frame. IB has also opened up an avenue for higher education in India, and the reputation of IB is surging ahead here.
You have to check the additional requirements stipulated by different institutions in addition to the IB scores. There are over 60 IB schools in India and is on the verge of going up due to the popularity. The underlying motive of IB is to help students from mobile families to get admission in colleges anywhere across the globe.

IB Diploma Program (DP) offers a two-year rigorous pre-university course in grades 11–12, typically in the age group of 16 to 19 years. The IB schools can choose to offer either IB Middle Years Program (MYP) or IB Primary Years Program (PYP).
The schools have the freedom to offer both as well. Baccalaureate is a French word meaning pre-university.
