Well, talking of the government medical colleges, the 85% home state quota is applicable if you fulfill one of the following requirements:
1. Candidates must need to pass classes 10th and 12th from Karnataka State.
2. If the candidate studied from some other state but possesses Karnataka domicile.
3. The candidate and their parent's mother tongue language should be either Kannada, Kodava, or Tulu, and the parents must be domiciled in Karnataka.
4. If the students have passed Class XII from outside the Institution of Karnataka, their parents must hold a Karnataka domicile. Also, in this case, the students or the parents must have Kanada, Kova, or Tulu as their mother language, and the candidate would be required to take the Karnataka Language Test.
5. Students who studied from classes 9th to 12th, in a Karnataka- based Institution or 1st and 2nd year PUC. Also, the candidate’s parents must have studied from Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years.
So, If you fulfill these criteria then you can apply under Karnataka Home State Quota.
