Hi TestprepKart,

I have gone through some of your good informative videos. Need to clarify some of my Doubts and really appreciate it with correct answer.

Is NRI student quota Mandatory requirement for admission in engineering college or for only SAT entrance exam?

Or we can ask like through Sat CIWG Quota is mandatory reservation or can apply in general?

If a student would like to apply in private engineering college which have not mentioned any NRI qouta  then can he apply as general?

.. if so .. then what will be the fees if its higher then 125000/- INR as mentioned in DASA for CIWG?

Hope i explain the doubts clearly and expecting your answer.

  • Hi,

So, couple of points to clarify here in light of engineering admission in India - "NRI Category".

    Clarification #1

From 2021 onward admission you need to write JEE Main instead of having SAT 2 in consideration. SAT is valid for students this year (2020).

    Clarification #2

DASA / CIWG is mandatory in case you are looking for NITs, IIITs, NSIT & DTUs in India - which mean if you are plannning for admission in Centrally funded institutions in India then DASA / CIWG is mandatory.

    Clarification #3

For admission in IITs - DASA / CIWG is not needed. Student need to clear JEE Main and then JEE Advanced to get admission in IITs in India. No other way to get in it.

    Clarification #4

For admission in Private engineering college admission you dont have to come through DASA / CIWG. You can simply appear for JEE Main (Score is not important) as they will be giving you a paid seat. Or you can simply wirte state level engineering exam or universities own entrance exam to get Paid Seat. This is it.

    Clarification #5

Fee - Now, is you get admission through CIWG in CFTIs in India you will be paying roughly 6 lakh rupees for complete 4 years course. And in case you get admission in DASA category you will be paying roughly 22 lakh rupees for same 4 year course. DASA is expensive for the fact that it has more amount of seats under it.

For any further clarification. Let us know.

    Thanks,
