Hearst Journalism Award
Type  of award:Scholarship.
Intended use: For undergraduate study at accredited 4-year institution. Designated institutions: Institutions accredited by Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication .
Basis for selection: Competition/talent/interest in  writing/ journali sm, based on newsworthiness, research, excellence of journali stic writing, photojournalism , or broadcast news. Major/ career  interest in journa lism; radio/television/film or
communications.
Additional information: Field of study may also include photojournalism or broadcast news. Applicants must be actively involved in campus media and submit work that has been published or aired. Competition consists of monthly contests and one championship. Scholarships awarded to student winners with matching grants awarded to their departments of journalism. Entries must be submitted by journal ism department. For additional information and deadlines, applicants should contact journalism  department
chair or visit Website. Only two applicants per competition per school.
