I am getting conflicting details. So Id be extremely thankful for your response. My son has just started in 11th standard and is preparing to write IITJEE Main&Adv. Hes USA citizen by birth and has studied in India from 1st standard. While I understand that his IIT admission is purely based on merit and his AIR rank in IIT Advanced exams. 

 

Little confused about other premier colleges like NIT, IIIT, Guindy, DCU/DCE. Is it mandatory for him to write SAT-2 to be considered via DASA only. Based on his merit AIR rank in IITJEE Mains will he be able to get admission as USA citizen or will he be barred to use his Mains rank. Thus implying that he definitely needs to prepare and write SAT-2 subject exams as well. Please guide

 

Also note that hell completing his 12th standard in 2020-21 and I heard that 2021-22 anyway writing IITJEE Mains is mandatory
