  • As luck would have it the high school students hardy have information for the different options like thinking that IB would be similar in structure.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) scoring system is from 1-7. But getting provisional admission based on the marks of class 12 is possible.). They will be aware of CBSE curriculum and naturally inclined to

Students also can get provisional admission to the Universities based on the projected or expected IB score. The following Universities accept admission to such candidates on IB stream.

Delhi University (DU), Lady Sri Ram College, Christ University, Delhi University and University of Bombay allot provisional admission to students hoping to get good PB scores. The courses are  English, Psychology, History, Economics, B.Com, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Business Studies, Management, Hotel Management, Law, Sciences, Humanities, BA, B.Sc., Commerce, Languages, Mass Media, Social Work, B.Ed., etc. depending on the University's current policies. The  University of Bombay has over 600 colleges including the prestigious  St. Xavier’s College and Narsee Monjee College.

  • Besides the negative publicity spread by coaching institutes, the IB stream students are also faced with few problems.

    - Lack of proper grading to compare IB score with Indian boards like ICSE/CBSE/State boards. In fact, the IB/A level  is equivalent or even superior to most of the board exams.
    - Some institutions prefer to make the IB stream students additional tests to judge the suitability.
    - And some Universities outright reject IB score for admission.

  • From 1983 onwards IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma is approved as the yardstick for admission by various Indian Universities. The students should check the courses available in various institutions. Even though IBDP is one of the courses for admission to Universities, still there is some reluctance from some sectors which hopefully would change in the course of time. This reluctance is mostly out of ignorance.
